Guide to the gay beaches in the Algarve

The Algarve is renowned for having the best and most spectacular beaches in Europe.

The most exposed,to the more reserved, opened with miles and miles of sand to small coves with acess only by boat, all the beaches are simply amaizing.

Several beaches in the Algarve called as gay, due to its greater isolation but also due to the fact that many of the regulars do naturism.
These beaches are not exclusively gay, but it is as if they were.

 In case you are a follower of naturism, mostly of them practice naturism is very common.
Here is a list of the main beaches frequented by gays in the Algarve:

  Praia Verde-Very broad area, limpid and more temperate waters, the beach has ample parking, is frequented by families, but the extreme west of the beach, due to it being the farthest parking has sometimes some frequency, although it is more married men looking for a "getaway".

Praia da Manta Rota -This beach is very frequented by gays. Park in the dirt park before the dunes, west zone of the "village" of Manta Rota and walk about 15 minutes in to East direction (near Cacelha Velha).  Praia do Barril - This beach is actually an island situated on the edge of the Ria Formosa front Tavira / Olhão, there will get up to drive to Pedras d'El Rei and then take the mini train or walk to the beach.

The beach has several restraints Beach, Naturism Zone and No-Naturism Zone, course that the area frequented by gay is naturist therefore need to walk a little.

Praia do Cavalo Preto - On the road between Quarteira and Vale de Lobo, Almancil, there is a sign indicating the way, but his condition is not the wbest, has a restaurant supporting the beach and the Gay area is the dunes before the cliffs of Vale de Lobo, and the beginning of the area below the cliff. We advise you to take note that this cliff is unstable, for those who want to have some fun there is also the area of pine forest. This is a Gay Beaches in the Algarve that is in TOP 3.

Praia de Santa Eulália - Gay Zone in Santa Eulalia is located in the east of Santa Eulalia Beach, between the existing rocks from the Beach to Santa Eulalia Maria Luisa (Club Med).

Praia Grande - The greatest of all! Located in the center of Algarve between Albufeira and Armação de Pêra, was the the best access and conditions.

This often makes the beach in 3 locations: Areal Beach, Dunes and Forest. This beach offers beach restraints in their extremes. This beach is in the TOP 3 in terms of frequency.

Praia do Submarino - Located between Praia da Rocha and Alvor, presents no indications to the beach by some factors which are described below: When the rising sea is high there is no beach, located on a cliff access is difficult and dangerous, and has no nearby parking. However it is one of the beaches used by the community of Portimão. (Check here all the gay clubs of Portimão)

Meia Praia - Perhaps one of the best in the Algarve. The gay area is situated between the Ria de Alvor and Palmares golf course in an area with plenty of dunes and vegetation, to get there, one should follow the signs to Meia Praia and Golf Course, then when the golf course is cut by the railway line passes up the line towards the coast, followed by always having the golf course to the right and when the network end of the golf course, the right access to the summer gay area. The water of this beach is clean and clear, fine sand and very clean.

 Praia das Furnas/Figueira - One of the lesser-known since it has no signage boards to display it. The water andclean sand, a few families, and with that characteristic with low tide, it is possible to pass along the rocks and find smaller beaches that would otherwise not have access. The beach is full of small caves (its name furnas). To get there it follows the road from Lagos to Vila do Bispo, and back up to the village of Figueira at the traffic lights next to the Vigia Golf Course, one crosses the entire village along the main road, and after spending a pontoon , you will find a road to the left, it follows that road to the right until you see a small white wall with a red arrow pointing to the right (back there) and follow the dirt road, after passing a small bridge on the river, going back again to the right and parking is right at the beach.

These are the most popular beaches attended by national and international gay men, yet the Algarve is made of many magical places and hundreds of beaches, so it is certain that you will find gays go to any beach you go.
